    • Lift AquaStop Valve lever all the way up. This will stop the water flow and preserve the vacuum so that there shouldn't be a need to prime the filter again.

    • Unplug the device from the electrical outlet.

    • Lift the AquaStop Valve latch all the way up.

    • Pull the AquaStop Valve up and out of its place in the filter.

    • Make sure the bottom two latches are down.

    • Push the top part open and push down on both sides of lid until lid is opened slightly.

    • Gently lift lid off of the rest of the case.

    Can the impeller shaft be upside down causing the pump to Not start.?

    • Place lid so that the impeller cover is facing up.

    • Push lock towards impeller while lifting up

    • Lift impeller cover up and off the impeller

    • Firmly lift the impeller up and out of its casing.

    • Replace the impeller by holding the shaft and pulling gently on the old impeller until it is released.

    • Place the new impeller onto the shaft.

I cant get this bleedin thing to work , haven't replaced anything but just wont work keeps grinding and wont suck to fill itself up .

Hello Kay Boyne,

Sorry for the late reply, but I’m actually putting together a guide on the priming assembly of the Fluval Aquarium filter! This is the part of the unit that’s responsible for starting up your filter.

A quick fix to your issue is to suck the outlet tube till the filter is able to fill itself, but if this sounds less than ideal, it’s recommended to fill the canister of the filter, as well as the intake tube.

If things still aren’t working out, you could try pumping the white knob till the filter fills itself up.
