Introduction

The motor brushes of the Porter-Cable PC60TAG provide a conducting path to the motor, and they may eventually wear down as the device begins to age. Use this guide to replace the brushes of your Porter-Cable PC60TAG.

    • Using the Phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the 3/4" screw on the back cover.

    • Unplug the grinder before disassembling.

    • Holding the front of the device, carefully slide the back cover over the cord.

    • Using the Phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the 1/2" screw holding on the motor brush arm.

    • Using the spudger, carefully lift the spring on the motor brush arm off of the motor brush and gently pull it to the side of the motor bush arm.

    • Be careful not to over bend the spring, as this could damage the spring and require replacement.

    • Using the spudger, gently push the motor brush out of the arm.

    • Using a pair of needle nose pliers, gently pull the motor brush terminal off of the motor brush arm.

    • Repeat steps 3-7 on the other side of the device.
