Introduction
I have many 64 GB Kingston DataTraveler SE9 G2 3.0 USB Flash Drives and occasionally one will not eject after use, even when all applications are quit. Rather than go thru elaborate other methods, here’s a simple solution.

Tap the x box in upper Left corner of window to quit this process. (You may have to choose Force Quit). Once QuickLookUIService is quit, Eject will work instantly.

Also found another option, doesn't require using Terminal. Open Activity Monitor in All Processes/Disk. Find QuickLookUIService. Tap the x box in upper Left corner of window. You may have to choose Force Quit. Once QuickLookUIService is quit, Eject will work.
