Introduction

Use this guide to replace the water filter on your Frigidaire refrigerator.

The water filter removes contaminants from the fridge's water supply.

If the filter is not changed at appropriate intervals, you may experience slow water flow, poor-tasting water from the dispenser, and low or no ice production.

    • Push in on the end of the water filter cartridge to release it.

    • Pull the cartridge straight out and discard it.

    • Unwrap the new cartridge. Install it by pushing it into the receptacle toward the rear of the refrigerator until you hear it click into place. The ridge on the side of the cartridge should fit in the notch on the rim of the receptacle.

    • Dispense a glass of water and check the filter receptacle area for leaks.

    • Flush the system for about 4-5 minutes. Run the water from the dispenser into a container.

    • A used gallon jug and a funnel may be useful for collecting the flushed water, which should be about 2 gallons.

    • Turn the ice maker back on. You may wish to discard the first batch of ice.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
