The Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max model 2554A vacuum draws all its cleaning solution and clean water from the clean water tank. The water is drawn from the clean water tank through the filter cap. The clean water is used to prevent dust from entering the filter cap. Also, if the dust enters the filter cap, the cap will no longer be clean and might not work properly. If there is a clog or malfunction in the filter, the cleaning solution will not be dispensed properly.
