Background
The Makita XEC01Z is a cordless 36V (18V X2) LXT® Brushless 9" Power Cutter intended for cutting materials such as concrete, I-beams, steel pipes, rebar, and metal studs. This device removes the necessity for engine pull starts, oil/gas mixing, and engine maintenance by utilizing two 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion batteries for cordless operation. The brushless motor offers 6,600 RPM, and the cutter has a maximum cutting depth of 3-1/2", enabling it to cut through standard residential concrete slabs in a single pass. Additionally, the cutter features an integrated water delivery system for OSHA Table 1 Compliance in concrete cutting applications. The Makita XEC01Z belongs to Makita's expanding 18V LXT System, which utilizes 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries.
